Helpful Tips

Utilize plastic totes instead of cardboard boxes. To ensure proper stacking and prevent items from falling, use totes that are the same size. Maximize the space by stacking items. Units are typically 8 feet in height. Make an aisleway to access items in the back of the storage unit. Keep heavy and fragile items low to the ground. Use shelves and furniture as storage, consider the hollow space of dresser drawers. Use pallets to raise items off the floor. Do not stack items up against the walls of the unit. This will help circulate the air flow and reduce moisture build up. Consider the placement of items, make sure items you need soon are in the front of the unit for easy retrieval. Do not store any items that are wet to prevent mold and/or mildew.
